The Palm Court Grill at The Davenport Hotel makes for a magical dinner occasion
By Janice Simeone

Dining at The Davenport is always an award winning experience.
The staff of crisply dressed servers are there to greet and seat you in The Palm Court Grill. This restaurant has ambiance to dazzle the most discriminating taste and a menu priced for any size pocketbook.
Iced water and warm bread with herb butter were served promptly. Waitress Kaylene offered a wine list as well as the chef’s selection of the evening. The french onion soup was served in a nice sized crock pot filled with Washington sweet onions caramelized with sherry in an herb broth topped with a crouton, melted Gruyère cheese and green onions. For the meat and potatoes person, the prime rib is first rate. The slow roasted beef cooked to perfection was topped with fried onions and served with homemade mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.
The dessert menu was going to be a tough decision. Bananas Jornata were deliciously wrapped in a light pastry with warm chocolate and pecans.
When ordering coffee, ask for the heavy cream and ooh la la! A taste sensation with no equal.
After dinner, a stroll around the Davenport lobby is always in order, or just make a reservation and spend the night in one of their luxurious rooms!
