Introducing Swing IN: the Inland Northwest swing dance event group

Creating Events with Swing, Blues and Hot Jazz for Dancers and Jazz Musicians
Spokane’s swing scene is growing… and Swing IN is here to provide dancers and musicians with places and events in the Inland Northwest to come together on! Look for future collaborations on dance workshops/instructors, festivals and more. Here are a few events coming up we’re involved in:
The Masonic Center Spring Dance Events April – June
Swing IN will have their premiere event at the Masonic Center Ballroom Friday, April 24th, 7pm – 12am. FREE swing dance lessons 7-8pm. Featured bands: 6 Foot Swing and Hot Club of Spokane perform 8-11pm. Dj’ed music for dancing 11pm-12am. $7/students, $10/adults, 10yrs and under FREE with adult ticket. No host bar, all ages. The next spring Swing IN events at the Masonic Ballroom are scheduled for Sunday, May 24th and Sunday, June 28th, both 6pm-11pm. 1108 W. Riverside. www.spomc.org
Swing IN Nights at the Casbah May – June
Spokane’s newest dance club, the Casbah, will be hosting swing nights every Saturday in May and June from 7pm-9:30pm. $5 cover. 21 yrs and older. Large dance floor, no host bars. Featured rotating bands: 6 Foot Swing, Hot Club of Spokane, and Timmy Swift and the Swingin’ Vinos. 411 W. Sprague. www.thecasbahnightclub.com
Glover Mansion Blues & Jazz Summer Concert Series July – August
Spokane’s home for great events, and beautiful summer nights is hosting an inaugural summer concert series this July and August, every Thursday, from 7pm-12am featuring blues and jazz duos and trios. The Heather O’Brien Blues Trio and the Hot Club of Spokane Trio will be featured. No host bar, food available, all ages. The entire main floor of this historic mansion is wooden and perfect for dancing. Take in the view of the dance floor and music from upstairs in the balcony seating, or enjoy the garden in the back. $5 cover. 321 W. 8th. (509) 459-0000. www.theglovermansion.com
