Victim from Spokane pedestrian crash succumbs to her injuries

The victim in yesterday’s pedestrian crash at First and Post in downtown Spokane died from her injuries this morning. The collision occurred at approximately 7:30am yesterday and the victim, 45 year old Mary Vedder, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening head injuries. The driver and pedestrian had both been eastbound on First. Vedder was in the north side crosswalk as the driver turned northbound onto Post striking her.
The driver has not been cited or arrested as the investigation in ongoing, but it does not appear at this time drugs, alcohol, or recklessness were factors in the collision.
