A 24-year-old Rathdrum, Idaho man was in jail on a felony drug charge Tuesday after he gave a Spokane Valley Police officer a date of birth of November 31st.
Jack Rosenthal was working traffic enforcement in the 9800 block of East Trent Monday morning when he encountered a pickup traveling 57 mph in the posted 40 mph zone.
He stopped the truck and the male driver verbally identified himself with an alias and date of birth of November 31st, 1988.
Knowing that “30 days hath September, April, June, and November,” Rosenthal arrested the man for giving false information and failing to cooperate. He handcuffed the driver and asked him again who he was.
This time the man answered correctly, Brian Lloyd Measel, March 18, 1985. With that information, the officer learned that the driver had no license.
Searching Measel, Rosenthal found a scorched metal spoon and a syringe containing morphine inside the driver’s pocket. He drove the suspect to the Spokane County Jail and booked him on a felony count of Possession of Controlled Substance.
Misdemeanor counts of Refusal to Cooperate and No Valid Driver’s License are pending.
