Reward offered in attempted murder at 5th and Cowley in Spokane

Crime Stoppers NWCrime Stoppers has offered a cash reward for information that solves an attempted murder that occurred August 7th at about Fifth and Cowley in Spokane.

Spokane Police officers were dispatched to the area after witnesses reported hearing two gunshots.  At about the same time they arrived there, a shooting victim drove up to a downtown hospital with a gunshot wound in his back.

Spokane PoliceThe victim told police he did not see a suspect and did not know where the shot came from, but that it sounded very close.  Officers checking his Lexus found two bullet holes. 

One, entering the car front-to-back, appeared to be the shot that injured the victim.  A second bullet hole was located just in front of the driver’s door.  Officers later found two bullet casings at the intersection where the shots were reported.

Detectives are treating the case as an attempted murder.  Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call 509-327-5111, or 1-800-222-TIPS.

Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward, and can also forward information to police at the website www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
