Vehicle drives into Spokane jail
By Devin Presta
Police were looking for an individual who was suffering from some mental health issues and had just stolen his mother’s vehicle. The individual drove the vehicle to the parking lot of the Spokane County Courthouse. He then proceeded to drive the vehicle over a curb and onto a sidewalk to avoid security devices designed to prevent unauthorized vehiclular traffic. He then drove the vehicle into the Spokane County Jail’s booking area, driving through the security door. Once inside the jail, the vehicle collided with a wall, stopping the vehicle.
The individual was identified as 31 year old Dustin Leeds. He was then booked into the Spokane County Jail for Theft of a Motor Vehicle, 1st Degree Malicious Mischief, and Reckless Endangerment. No employees or prisoners were in the area at the time, so no one was injured in this incident.
