Dashing through the snow ends in tragedy on Schweitzer

I was visiting a friend in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Tuesday when a teenage boy, William C. Johnson, who was a dear friend of her family, was killed in a skiing accident at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. The 15 year old Sandpoint High School sophomore was on the south bowl while descending C Chute when he hit a tree.

I send my prayers and condolences to my friend, her husband and sons, and the Johnson family.

This tragedy underscored the importance of never taking the presence of loved ones for granted. You just don’t know what day might be their last.

Tell the people you love that you love them. Give them a big hug if you can. Blame it on too much Christmas cheer if you must. Remember your blessings and appreciate what you have in this life because nothing lasts forever.
