Suspect in attempted bombing of Detroit-bound jetliner is indicted

A federal grand jury in Michigan handed up a six-count indictment of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian man accused of smuggling explosives aboard a Northwest Airlines flight on December 25, 2009, and trying to set them off. The charges include attempted murder and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.
