Macy's downtown Boise, Idaho, store is closing.
"It's very sad for all of the people who count on us being here within walking distance to their homes," said Rudy in the fragrance department. He said his job there will end mid February after Valentines Day. Employees will be offered positions at several other locations if they wish to continue working for Macy's. Sales continue with 30% to 50% discount store wide.
Many store fronts are vacant in downtown Boise reflecting today's economy. With consumers tightening their belts, the mink coats on the half price rack may still be a hard sell.
This Macy's will close it's doors in mid March 2010.
