The FRAME DAMAGE ANIMATION FESTIVAL celebrates the spirit and imagination of animation from around the world at the Starz Film Center in Denver, Colorado, August 7 to 10, 2008.
Created to "draw attention to the greatness that is animation," Frame Damage seeks to program a wide spectrum of animated works, and pay tribute to their ingenuity. The Festival seeks all types of mainstream or underground animated content in any genre ranging from childrens cartoons to adult themed films.
Frame Damage is the brainchild of the founders of the highly successful First Look Student Film Festival (now part of the internationally acclaimed Starz Denver Film Festival), who are animators themselves. With experience and passion behind the scenes, the Festival is sure to draw large audiences, industry participation, and media exposure.
From cave paintings to computer graphics, animation has always been about emotion, design and imagination. Frame Damage is a festival focused solely on animation which seeks to display its many forms to as many people as possible.
The Festival will take place this summer at the Starz Film Center, located in the historic Tivoli Center on the Auraria campus in downtown Denver. The Starz Film Center is well known in the area, and is also the site of the Starz Denver Film Festival, one of the region's best film events.
For submission to Frame Damage, animated short films should be 30 minutes or less in running time, and feature-length animated works should be 50 minutes or longer.
