This Valentine's Day Lavalife heats things up by partnering with one of the sexiest chefs around, acclaimed chef Todd English. Chef English has created recipes for those who are single and lovin' it, as well as daters looking to spice up an evening with someone new. With over 96 million singles in North America today, not everyone wants to celebrate Valentine's Day in the typical way, so this year Lavalife and Chef Todd English offer 10 recipes for a fun and economic Valentine's Day alternative.

"His Valentine's Day recipes for singles provide many exciting choices no matter what stage of the dating game- from a romantic dinner for two to a fun, creative singles party. Cooking together is a great way for our singles to get to know each other a little better!"

Singles Party

For those who are looking to celebrate being single, Lavalife recommends getting together with friends and co-singles to throw a "Single and Lovin' it" Valentine's Day bash and let the good times roll while dishing up some of Todd English's most savory plates including: Artichoke Guacamole, Fried Oysters, Shrimp Tacos and the famous Olives Crab Cakes.

"I normally like to give my party guests a wide selection of small bites to enjoy while they socialize," said Chef Todd English. "I like to put a twist on traditional favorites - such as my artichoke guacamole - to get the crowd buzzing. I make it a point to ensure that all the food is bite-size and not too messy."

Dinner For Two

For those who are up for a more intimate "getting to know you" date, Lavalife recommends forgetting the standard dinner out, and staying in to make a little steam of your own with these succulent dishes for two including: Baked Oysters, Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread, Spaghetti with Truffle Mascarpone and Fallen Chocolate Cake.

"Oysters are an aphrodisiac and this dish is a great way to start the evening. I think that the Fig and Prosciutto Flatbread is a fun dish to make together. Pizza is very interactive and this recipe puts an upscale twist on a traditional favorite," says English. "The best way to end an evening is with chocolate. The falling chocolate cake with raspberry sauce is a sexy dessert that can be shared with one spoon."

Whether you're single and spending the evening with a group of friends or dating someone new, let Chef Todd English give you the recipe for a special evening at home this Valentine's Day. As any single knows, the way to a man or woman's heart, is through his/her stomach.

Bursting at the Seams
Dramatic plumes, both large and small, spray water ice out from many locations along the famed 'tiger stripes' near the south pole of Saturn's moon Enceladus. The tiger stripes are fissures that spray icy particles, water vapor and organic compounds. This mosaic was created from two high-resolution images that were captured by the narrow-angle camera when NASA's Cassini spacecraft flew past Enceladus and through the jets on Nov. 21, 2009. Imaging the jets over time will allow Cassini scientists to study the consistency of their activity. Image Credit: NASA/JPL/Space Science Institute...

Help Make A Difference! Donate Today.

The Inland Echo is taking donations on behalf of Lakeview Cemetery in Sprague for a field trimmer ($600 cost) to knock down the heavy overgrowth. Lakeview does not receive public funds, so volunteer donations are the only way to support the work to renovate this forgotten, historic final resting place of dozens of people, including many veterans. Please help us accomplish this important work. Thank you!
