A 48-year-old Medical Lake man lost two vehicles, 30 pounds of marijuana and more that $50,000 in cash Thursday when sheriff’s office drug detectives raided his two residences in Medical Lake.
Sgt. Chris Kehl said the first warrant was executed at 104 W. Sixth and netted investigators a quarter-pound of marijuana and nearly a half-pound of cocaine. A small amount of heroin was also seized.
Detectives found $3,000 in cash and another quarter-pound of marijuana packaged for sale inside a car at the home. They arrested Joseph Richard Deanda and found both cocaine and marijuana on his person.
The detectives then executed a second warrant at Deanda’s other residence at 528 S. Lake. There they found 30 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, more than $45,000 in cash and three firearms, two loaded derringers and a shotgun.
Investigators were assisted at the second residence by two Spokane Police Department K-9’s and their handlers.
A Chrysler Sebring and Toyota Camry were seized during the warrant executions.
Deanda was booked into the Spokane County Jail on two felony counts of Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine and Marijuana). Kehl said additional criminal charges against the suspect are expected.
